Val Veny and Val Ferret offer different perspectives on the mountains around Courmayeur. Plan an outing according to current access and transport information, rather than assuming every trailhead is reached in a rental car. A walking day needs its own timing and return arrangement.
Think through the entire Alpine route
If Courmayeur forms part of a journey involving Turin, Geneva or another resort, describe the full route at the outset. Border crossings, possible tunnel routes and seasonal alternatives should be discussed before confirmation, without relying on a single map estimate for the whole day.
